From our small-town beginnings in the late 1930’s in Smithfield, Virginia, we have grown into a $15B vertically integrated food company with a presence in 22 Countries.  We are the world’s largest pork processor and hog producer, committed to providing good food in a responsible way. We accomplish that by maintaining robust animal care, community involvement, employee safety, environmental, and food safety and quality programs.

Operation 4000! is our initiative to employ 4,000 veterans by 2020.  Accomplishing this goal starts with building our brand and expanding our presence.  Along with recruitment and hiring focuses, in 2017 we launched our Employee Resource Group, Smithfield Salutes, which will bring our veteran employees together with internal and external activities focused on their military experiences.
